peingu no ngʉcʉ 鼻笛

鼻笛是鄒族人常用的樂器之一

鄒語稱 ”peingu no ngʉcʉ” 鼻笛

The nose flute is one of the musical instruments commonly used by the Tsou people.

In Zou language, it is called ”peingu no ngʉcʉ” nose flute

However, it is also common among the Paiwan and Bunun ethnic groups.

During the Japanese colonial period, Takashi Kurosawa collected the records of five communities from the Tsou people.

Record the different names and usage situations of nose flute

Among them, the tapangʉ community calls the nose flute peingu no ngucu

The nose flutes investigated in this company are of the two-branch type.

The nose flute held in the right hand is about 1.5 feet long

It has three finger holes; the one held by the left hand is about 1.4 feet long and has two finger holes.

In addition, the taboos and names for the nose flute among the Tsou tribes are also different.

According to Elder Wang’s pronunciation

The traditional musical instrument of the Tsou people is the nose flute called yupeinga ngʉcʉ, yupeinga is something that is played

ngʉcʉ means nose

Most of the current writing methods are peingu no ngʉcʉ

Check the Zou dialect dictionary and find that the flute is peingu

ngʉcʉ is also the nose

The elder said that the musical instrument was playing

It will be another name saying

Pastor An Shumei, who is currently in Leye, is revitalizing the culture of the Tsou people’s nose flute and promoting its inheritance.
