大洪水

 

據說很久以前

大地發生了大洪水

鄒族的人們和動物都跑到玉山上去躲起來

可是過了很久洪水都沒有退

就有人派出了一隻小鳥去問問看是什麼原因

回來後小鳥說：「是因為山下主要的河流，一隻大鰻魚堵住了出水口，所以水才會排不掉。」
村裡的人聽了就跑去求一隻大螃蟹

希望他能幫忙大家趕走大鰻魚

大螃蟹說：「如果我成功的話就要取女人的腿毛」

人們答應了

因為他們不想一直待在山上

螃蟹背負著大家的期望

希望能把大鰻魚趕走

可是不管大螃蟹夾大鰻魚的任何地方

都沒有辦法讓大鰻魚離開

後來大螃蟹就夾了大鰻魚的肚臍

一夾起來

大鰻魚痛的跑掉了

大洪水也就退了

動物們跑到了洞窟

一些鄒族的人從玉山下來後就建了第一個部落「達邦」

而且蓋了 kuba（男子聚會所）  也叫做母社

除了達邦跟特富野之外的部落就都叫做小社

 

 

Tsou Mythology Series 1

Great Flood

 

It is said that a long time ago

There was a great flood on the earth

The people and animals of the Tsou tribe went to Yushan to hide.

But the flood did not recede after a long time.

Someone sent a little bird to ask what the reason was.

After returning, the little bird said: “It’s because a big eel blocked the outlet of the main river at the foot of the mountain, so the water cannot be drained.”
After hearing this, the people in the village ran to beg for a big crab.

I hope he can help everyone get rid of the big eel

The big crab said: “If I succeed, I will take the hair from women’s legs.”

people agreed

Because they don’t want to stay in the mountains all the time

Crab carries everyone’s expectations

I hope I can drive away the big eel

But no matter where the big crab catches the big eel,

There is no way to make the big eel leave

Later, the big crab clamped the belly button of the big eel.

Clamp it up

The big eel ran away in pain

The flood has receded

The animals ran to the cave

Some Tsou people built the first tribe “Dapang” after coming down from Yushan.

And a ”kuba” (men’s gathering place) was built, also called the mother club.

Tribes other than Dabang and Tefuye are all called Xiaoshe
